Winchester Match 6.5 PRC ammunition uses a Sierra MatchKing Hollow Point Boattail bullet, with a sleek profile, large boattail, and a small hollow point to maximize long-range accuracy. Designed for barrels with a fast twist rate of 1:7 to 1:9, this ammunition is designed for extreme precision. MatchKing HPBT bullets are not recommended for hunting. According to Sierra, the MatchKing bullet does not provide reliable explosive expansion on game at equivalent velocities when compare to lightly jacketed hunting bullets.
